In brief
- Facebook is rolling out Your algorithm, a space where you list the topics you want to see.
- After tapping Interested or Not interested, Facebook may ask what exactly you liked.
- Recommendations in Feed and Reels update in real time, powered by large language models.
Meta is launching Your algorithm on Facebook, an AI-powered tool that lets you tell Facebook, in your own words, what you want to see in Feed and Reels.

The announcement went out on October 13, 2026, on Meta’s newsroom. It comes a day after Meta launched Muse Wonder, its most capable model yet.
How Facebook Your algorithm works
It is a dedicated space where you add and manage the topics you want to see. You reach it through the three-dot menu.
Meta has updated that menu on every post to make the new customization tools easier to find.
| Tool | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Your algorithm | Add and manage topics you want to see | Three-dot menu |
| Follow-up questions | Answer in your own words after Interested or Not interested | Posts in Feed and Reels |
| Three-dot menu | Quick access to the customization tools | On every post |
Feedback in your own words, not just a tap
When you tap Interested or Not interested on a post, Facebook may ask follow-up questions. You can say in plain language what you want to see more or less of.
According to Meta, your recommendations change in real time, within the same session.
What changed behind the scenes
Until now, Facebook’s ranking systems inferred your interests from what you did: likes, comments, what you watched and thousands of other signals.
Now large language models (LLMs) come into play, picking up the intent and context behind free-form text. Meta combines what you write with what it already knows about you, and describes the result as “an algorithm you can actually talk to.”
What we don’t know yet
- Meta has not shared a rollout timeline or which countries, including the US, EU and UK, get it first.
- It is unclear whether the tools will come to Instagram or Threads.
- Meta did not explain how your written inputs are stored or how long they are kept.
- There is no word on how the change affects reach for Pages and creators.
What it means for you
- Facebook users: look for Your algorithm in the three-dot menu on any post. Meta says it is rolling out, so it may not show up for you yet.
- Privacy: what you type becomes another ranking signal alongside everything Meta already knows about you. In the EU, GDPR gives you the right to request access to data Meta holds about you.
- Creators and brands: watch your Feed and Reels reach over the coming weeks, since Meta has not said how the change affects distribution.
