Meta announced Meta Enterprise Platform on September 28, 2026, a new business unit meant to help companies use AI to grow. In a post on Meta’s official newsroom, Mark Zuckerberg calls it “the next major pillar” of Meta’s business, alongside the consumer products and the advertising that serves hundreds of millions of businesses.

According to Zuckerberg, the unit will build on strengths he says few companies have together: advanced models, leading agents, large-scale infrastructure, and years of working closely with businesses. At first, Meta will focus on bringing its full technology stack to businesses and developers, including:
- The Muse agent
- Meta Business Agent
- Muse API
- Muse Code
The announcement adds “and more,” but gives no further products, pricing or timelines.
Who is running it
Meta Enterprise Platform will be led by Chirantan “CJ” Desai in a new role, Chief Enterprise Platform Officer, reporting directly to Zuckerberg. Desai joins from MongoDB, where he was CEO and President. Before that he led product and engineering at Cloudflare and spent nearly eight years at ServiceNow, including as President and COO. Zuckerberg points to his record building software in AI, infrastructure, business applications and security, and to his industry network.
In his own statement, Desai said AI will reshape how organizations of all sizes innovate, grow, serve customers and run their operations over the coming years. He said the unit will focus on turning Meta’s AI stack into products and services companies can deploy in their own businesses, with security and privacy built into the enterprise products from the start, as with Muse. His stated goal is to make Meta the place enterprises come to scale.
Why it matters
Meta has made its money mostly from advertising, and its AI products have reached businesses through its consumer apps, for example Muse for Small Business. The new unit formally takes Meta into selling models, agents and developer tools directly to organizations, a market where companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Google are already active. Hiring the CEO of an enterprise software company, rather than promoting from within, suggests Meta sees this as a separate business, not just another feature.
It is worth noting what the announcement does not include: no pricing, no availability date and no detail on what an organization can buy today. For now it is a statement of intent and a senior hire.
