Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, developed by Infinity Ward, is scheduled to launch on October 23, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. It is built on three pillars: a campaign that opens with a North Korean invasion of South Korea, multiplayer with modular arenas and new modes, and DMZ with progression that carries over between deployments. This page collects all of our Modern Warfare 4 coverage by topic.

Every article is based on official information published up to October 7, 2026, ahead of launch. We have not played the final release yet, so there is no score or buying recommendation here.

Where to Start

For one overall picture, start with our preview, Modern Warfare 4: A New Front in Korea and Battles That Change Between Rounds. It covers the campaign, multiplayer, DMZ and what to consider before buying, and each topic below goes deeper.

Campaign

  • Where Modern Warfare 4’s campaign is heading: two parallel paths. Private Park and his unit at war in Korea, and Captain Price operating outside the chain of command after Task Force 141 is disbanded, with Ghost and Gaz sent to stop him.

Multiplayer

  • Kill Block: an arena built from three modular sections, with more than 500 combinations possible at launch. In Gunfight, the combination changes every two rounds.
  • Collateral: a round-based 5v5 mode built on Search and Destroy. Players start with a pistol, money carries over between rounds and equipment is lost on death.
  • Ground War vs 6v6: Combat Outpost for 24v24 battles with vehicles, versus 6v6 modes such as Domination and Hardpoint, and how to choose by the decisions you want to make.
  • Movement and gunplay: mantling into a slide, pipe climbing and Ballistic Authority, where hip-fire shots follow the barrel without random spread (Bloom).
  • Gunny and Apex Attachments: suggested builds from the attachments you have already unlocked, and unique additions that unlock at the end of a weapon’s progression.
  • Regular vs Classic Prestige: one path keeps your Create-a-Class unlocks, the other relocks them in exchange for faster XP and exclusive rewards.

DMZ

Before You Buy

  • Is your PC ready for Modern Warfare 4? The minimum and recommended specs, how to check TPM and Secure Boot, and what a specs table cannot tell you.
  • Standard vs Vault: what Vault adds, why early access is not exclusive to it, and the suggested $30 upgrade from the digital Standard Edition.
  • Modern Warfare 4 on Switch 2: what the beta showed, including Joy-Con 2 mouse controls and gyro aiming, and what needs testing in handheld and TV play.
