Claude is Anthropic's AI assistant. It writes and edits text, works with documents and files, searches the web and runs code, and paid plans add Claude Code for software work. There is a free plan, Pro at $20 a month and Max for people who use it all day. It suits writers, editors and developers.

Anthropic says prices exclude applicable tax. Every plan has usage limits that reset on a rolling five-hour window, and paid plans add weekly limits. The pricing page lists USD only, so check your local price at checkout.
Availability and privacy
Anthropic publishes a list of supported countries and regions. Its privacy policy says that for people in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, the data controller is Anthropic Ireland, Limited, and data transferred outside the EEA or UK relies on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. The pricing page says you can opt out of model training on every individual plan.

Is Claude free?
Yes. The free plan includes chat on web, desktop and mobile, web search, file creation and code execution, memory and connectors, with lower usage limits and up to five projects.
Is Claude Code included in my plan?
Yes, on every paid plan. Anthropic says Claude Code shares the same usage limits as chat, so your terminal work and your conversations draw from one pool.
What is the difference between Pro and Max?
Max includes everything in Pro plus 5x or 20x more usage per five-hour session, higher output limits and priority access at busy times. Max is billed monthly and starts at $100 a month.
How many messages can I send?
There is no fixed number. Anthropic says it depends on the length and complexity of your conversations, the model and the features you use. Limits reset on a rolling five-hour window, and paid plans also have a weekly limit.
Who controls my data in Europe?
For people in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Anthropic's privacy policy names Anthropic Ireland, Limited as the data controller. Elsewhere it is Anthropic PBC.
