ChatGPT is OpenAI's AI assistant: a chat tool that writes, summarizes files, creates images and helps with research, with a ChatGPT Work mode for longer tasks. Anyone can use the free plan, and Go, Plus and Pro add more usage. It suits writers, freelancers and small teams who want one general-purpose assistant.
This page collects ChatGPT's official plans and prices and every Maitz article about it, grouped into guides, comparisons and news. Prices were checked against OpenAI's official pages on October 8, 2026.
Plans and prices (checked on October 8, 2026)
| Plan | Official price | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Unlimited text chats with GPT-6 (subject to abuse guardrails). Limited uploads, image creation, voice and deep research |
| Go | $8 in the US | More messages with tools, more uploads and images, longer memory. OpenAI says the plan may include ads |
| Plus | $20 | Advanced reasoning models with GPT-6, expanded messages, uploads and deep research, more Codex and ChatGPT Work |
| Pro | $100, $200 or $500 | Three usage tiers, Pro reasoning with GPT-6 Astra and Dot, the always-on agent. Ultrafast only on Pro 500 |
ChatGPT's pricing page did not display amounts when we checked, so the figures come from OpenAI's Help Center (Plus and Pro) and the Go launch post, which gives the US price. OpenAI bills in USD and offers local-currency billing in a limited set of countries, including in Europe and the UK, so your checkout price can differ. Business (from two users) and Enterprise plans are available for organizations.
Availability and privacy
OpenAI says Go is available in every country where ChatGPT is supported. For people in the EEA or Switzerland, OpenAI’s EU privacy policy names OpenAI Ireland Limited as the controller of personal data; elsewhere it is OpenAI OpCo, LLC. The policy lists rights such as correcting or deleting your personal data and objecting to direct marketing, and the pricing page says every individual plan lets you opt out of model training.
